Mikhail Rasumny(1890-1956)

The son of a cantor, Rasumny made his stage debut at 14 and toured Europe and South America with the Moscow Art Theatre. Rasumny settled in the U.S. in 1935 and took jobs as a bill collector and dishwasher between acting jobs. His first American film appearance was in Comrade X (1940). He spent the remainder of his career playing several ethnic roles.
