Lini Evans

Lini Evans is a multilingual singer and actor whose work spans international stages and on screen. When Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle (2015) launched a North American search for a Caucasian who could sing flawless Japanese, the Calgary-born artist booked the role without auditioning.That rare blend of linguistic agility and screen presence has shaped a career that moves fluidly between music-driven performance, supporting roles and emotionally grounded storytelling.Lini was scouted onstage by a Hollywood North talent agent, leading to guest star and recurring roles including Nicola Peltz Beckham's classy mother in A&E’s Bates Motel (2013), widow in Supernatural (2005) and Alice Wetterlund's overbearing mother in Syfy’s award-winning Resident Alien (2021). She is also often recognized as "that Hallmark mom" or His Father's Footsteps (1915)’s last TV wife.Lini is especially thrilled when cast to both act and sing onscreen as with the High Castle series, and more recently, in Juan Pablo Di Pace’s award-winning directorial feature Before We Forget (2024), executive-produced by American icon Norman Lear and Brent Miller. She also appears onscreen as a saloon singer in Michelle Muldoon’s all-female period western Last Stand to Nowhere (2019).In lines, lyrics or language, Lini has a natural gift for connecting with audiences. Her Film & TV roles range from warm, caring mothers to sultry torch singers performing in Japanese, Italian, English and more, while her international solo work showcases a repertoire singing in more than eight languages.
