
Julian Curtis
In 2025, Julian wrapped supporting roles in Hershey (opposite Finn Wittrock), indie sequel All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane and The Tacoma Exorcism directed by Julius Avery. As a writer/director he is currently in post-production on 'The Long Passeggiata'; an ambitious proof of concept detailing the 1960s Italian migrant experience commissioned by the Brisbane City Council to write his second full length play. The most prominent TV role of his career was the lead villain in the limited series 'Are You Afraid of the Dark: Ghost Island' for Nickelodeon (Emmy nominated for Outstanding Children's Series).He has acted for many Australian leading theatre companies including Sydney Theatre Co. (Embers - national tour, Galipoli), Qld Theatre (25 Down, Bernhardt Hamlet, Gaslight - national tour), Laboite (The Glass Menagerie, Dead Devils), Playlab (Magpie, Horizon - Matilda nominated) and was a Matilda Award winner for his role as Austin in True West.As a writer, Julian has been produced twice by Screen Queensland: 'Power the Kid' (w/ QPIX) and 'And the Winner Is'. 'Tallest Poppies', a web series he co-wrote and acted in, was awarded as finalist at the world's most prestigious comedy festival Just for Laughs Montreal in 2013. His debut play 'Legacy' started life when on salary at University of Queensland before being accepted into the National Workshop via Playwriting Australia. It was performed at LaBoite HWY in 2019. As a writer/director he is currently in post-production on 'The Long Passeggiata'; an ambitious proof of concept detailing the 1960s Italian migrant experience of the proxy wives and has been financially commissioned by the Brisbane City Council to write a new play.Julian is a NIDA (fine arts - acting) graduate.
