J. Alex Brinson is an American-Canadian actor, producer, entrepreneur, and business leader whose career spans entertainment, real estate, and strategic advisory.Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Cheryl V. Foreman, a social worker, and John W. Brinson, an entrepreneur, Brinson's early years were shaped by both challenge and opportunity. Diagnosed with dyslexia while attending Philadelphia public schools, he found encouragement at The Benchmark School in Media, Pennsylvania, where teachers recognized his potential and introduced him to the performing arts. After appearing in school productions, regional commercials, and the PBS children's series Maple Ave., he discovered a passion for storytelling that would shape his career.Brinson continued his artistic training at Philadelphia's Freedom Theatre before attending the High School for Creative and Performing Arts. At eighteen, he was accepted into The Juilliard School, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama and received classical conservatory training.Graduating during the 2008 Writers Guild of America strike, Brinson entered an industry facing significant uncertainty. Rather than waiting for opportunity, he turned to entrepreneurship, relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he co-founded Recycle-Now!, a waste management and recycling company. Over the next five years, he helped build the business before returning to his original passion for film and television.Awarded a full merit scholarship to Vancouver Film School, Brinson expanded his creative skill set by studying producing, cinematography, and post-production, gaining experience on both sides of the camera.His return to acting led to recurring roles in Netflix's Travelers, followed by his breakout performance as Luke Watkins in the CBS legal drama All Rise. He most recently appeared in FX's American Sports Story, executive produced by Ryan Murphy.Beyond entertainment, Brinson is the Founder & Chairman of Think Brinson Group of Companies, a diversified platform spanning real estate, capital markets, entertainment, sports, and strategic advisory. While his professional interests extend across multiple industries, storytelling remains the common thread connecting his work as an actor, producer, entrepreneur, and business leader.Brinson divides his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Montreal.
