Clara York(I)

Clara is an actress, writer, and spoken-word performer whose recent television work includes recurring roles on Monsters and HBO’s Euphoria. Additional credits include Why Women Kill opposite Ginnifer Goodwin and Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories opposite Eric Wareheim. She also starred in the short film In Our Time, directed by acclaimed conceptual artist David Lamelas and produced by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Originally from Maine and raised in California, Clara began performing professionally as a child and studied acting throughout her teens before booking early television roles on Night Court and Wings under the direction of James Burrows. Her career has spanned television, theater, and comedy performance in Northern California, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Clara is also the writer and performer of the long-running solo show Apocalypse Not Now, about finding community through disaster. She performed it for over a decade, adapting it to popular atrocities of which there were many--911 mania, the Station Fire, the Great Recession, Bitcoin, Cancel Culture and finally the pandemic. During lock down, she adapted the piece into a television pilot that was named a semifinalist in both the 2021 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards and the Emerging Screenwriters Genre Competition.
