Barbara Friend. Writer: Fire Country. Barbara Friend was born on July 18, 1989 in Austin, Texas. She attended St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in Radio-Television-Film. Barbara has been a reader for the Bluecat and Austin Film Festivals. She was an intern at ABC's Private Practice before starting at Grey's Anatomy.
