Zeki Yahya

"Zeki Yahya is a filmmaker, visual storyteller, and visual director based in Baghdad. With a creative background enriched by his residence in Germany, Yahya’s work explores the profound intersection of philosophy and cinema. His directorial style is heavily influenced by the school of Andrei Tarkovsky and the philosophical inquiries of Friedrich Nietzsche, characterized by melancholic atmospheres, cinematic realism, and deep ontological themes. While utilizing advanced digital and AI tools to expand visual horizons, his practice remains deeply rooted in the analytical and aesthetic traditions of independent filmmaking. Yahya focuses on 'Cinematic Inquiry' to challenge contemporary perceptions of truth and existence. His work has gained international recognition, including selections by the Lift-Off Global Network."
