Robert Lang is a British digital colorist with over 25 years of experience in post-production. Since 2001, his work has been recognized with nominations and awards from some of the world's most prestigious institutions, including an Oscar nomination, honors at the Cannes Film Festival, three BAFTA nominations and eight European Film Award nominations.He is perhaps best known for his collaboration with Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki on 'The Man Without a Past' (2002), Finland's first Oscar-nominated feature film. His work on the film contributed to a Palme d'Or nomination, and winning the Grand Prix of the Jury and Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at Cannes.In 2006, Rob traveled to India to join the renowned Pixion Studios, and has since worked across the country's major post-production houses. He has collaborated with many of India's leading cinematographers and directors on both Indian and international projects, and has served as colorist on multiple National Film Award, IIFA and Filmfare Award winners.He is credited with the color grading India's first HDR television series (Made in Heaven (2019) for Amazon Prime Video) and has since delivered HDR/ Dolby Vision content across all the major OTT platforms, including Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar.In 2023, he made history as the first foreign recipient of the Best Colourist award at India's Kerala State Film Awards.His career now spans two continents and nearly three decades of filmmaking. From celluloid era European cinema and the earliest days of the Digital Intermediate (DI) to HDR streaming, AI feature films and high-end International commercials - making him one of the few colorists equally at home in all of these worlds.
