Rhys Mitchell

Rhys Mitchell is an Australian writer, actor and artist. Best known internationally for playing The Amazing Steven in the multiple Emmy-winning HBO Max series Hacks, his other credits include the Emmy-nominated BBC/ABC drama The Newsreader, Upper Middle Bogan, Strife opposite Asher Keddie, Barracuda, CAKE Shark Lords seen on FX, Hulu and Apple TV, Netflix and NBC Peacock series Irreverent, and The Happy Worker executive produced by David Lynch. Recent film work includes The Rooster with Hugo Weaving. A multi-award winning filmmaker, his documentaries include Max Gimblett Original Mind and Spare Time, a comic documentary co-directed with Maria Angelico about amateur ten-pin bowlers. His short films have screened at many festivals worldwide, with We Keep On Dancing winning Best Live Action Short at the Palm Springs Film Festival.
