Feride Muazzez Arçay was a Turkish actress who worked in theater and cinema. She studied at the Private German High School in Istanbul before graduating from the Theater School established at Alay Köşkü. In 1926, she co-founded the Izmir Theater with Avni Dilligil and remained with the company until its closure. She later established a career in Turkish cinema and received the Best Supporting Actress award at the 6th Golden Orange Film Festival for her performance in Bin yillik yol (1968). Arçay was married to actor Renan Fosforoğlu, with whom she had a son, actor Ferdi Merter. After suffering a leg fracture in an accident, she was unable to continue appearing in films after 1976.
