María Mercedes Coroy. Actress: La Llorona. María Mercedes Coroy is a Mexican actress best known for La Llorona (2019). Coroy was born in Tapachula, Chiapas, and grew up in Santa María De Jesús, Guatemala. She speaks Kaqchikel. Since she was little, she liked to participate in plays and local folk dances. Her film debut was Ixcanul (2015), direct by Jayro Bustamante, the same director and co-writer of La Llorona.
