Manish Dayal is an American actor and director who's had dynamic roles in film and television. He is best known for playing Hassan Kadam in The Hundred Foot Journey opposite Helen Mirren, directed by Lasse Hallström, produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey for DreamWorks.In television, Manish plays Ash Patel, an engineer from Boston, in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for AMC in the Norman Reedus spin off. For 6 seasons Dayal starred as Dr. Devon Pravesh and began directing the medical drama, The Resident for FOX and Disney. The series follows a group of doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital as they face personal and professional challenges on a daily basis. Dayal began directing during its 5th season and later went on to direct the medical drama's 100th landmark centennial episode. His short film Fifteen Years Late marked his directorial debut. Dayal also stars in the film, opposite Matt McGorry and Rachel Brosnahan.He also starred in Gurinder Chadha's gripping political drama, Viceroy's House for Pathé & BBC Films opposite Gillian Anderson, Hugh Bonneville, and Michael Gambon.He’s had notable roles like Ryan Ray, a tech prodigy who's consumed by his desire to achieve in Halt and Catch Fire for AMC. He also played Vijay Nadeer in ABC Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Dayal also appeared in the Netflix romantic comedy Holidate.Dayal's early credits include the lead in The New Group's twice-extended off-Broadway comedy hit, Rafta Rafta. He went on to play the role of Hal in Rubicon for AMC and Raj Kher in The CW spin-off teen drama 90210. Other credits include Outsourced, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Good Wife, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, The Domino Effect.
