Leo Brouwer
The Afro-Cuban composer, classical guitarist and conductor Leo Brouwer (his birth name was Juan Leovigildo Brouwer) had a strong influence on guitar music in particular and classical music in general. He recorded as a guitarist or conductor more than a hundred recordings. Brouwer's many film scores have brought his music to the attention of a large audience around the world. His influence in his native country results in part from the important positions he has held in Cuban music institutions.
