Keith Barron(1934-2017)

The youngest of three children born to Sandy, a provisions merchant, and Mary. While at technical college, he joined Mexborough Theatre Guild and Drama Society, making his first appearance at sixteen as Ralph in The Night of the Burning Vessel. He left college in 1950 to work for his father until he was called up for National Service in the RAF as senior airman. When he was demobbed in 1955 he decided to try the theatre and became an ASM at Sheffield Repertory Theatre. There, he met and married his wife to be, Mary, a scene painter, in 1959. He got the odd small role until he was spotted and asked to join the Bristol Old Vic in 1965. Television plays included Stand up Nigel Barton and Vote Vote For Nigel Barton and Series such as Telfords Change and Duty Free. He later moved to Hayle in Cornwall to open a restaurant and became semi-retired.
