Jeff Balsmeyer, best known for the direction of Danny Deckchair (2003) and Ingenious (2009), began his directing career when he made a short film The Room(1992), which won the Best Short Film Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Working as a Second Assistant Director and Storyboard artist on over 40 featuring films for directors such as Robert DeNiro, Spike Lee and Woody Allen, Balsmeyer's 30 years of experience has resulted in multiple awards, including the prestigious Emerging Filmmaker of the Year Award from New York's Lincoln Center.
