He started acting in Cinema with The Prank (1999) directed by Homayoon Ass'adian. Javad Yahyavi was one of the experienced presenters on IRIB TV5 of Iran, who was banned from television activities after the 2009 Iranian presidential election, But he continued to act in cinema and theater.
