Raised in Austin, Texas in a family of musicians and theater artists, Heidi’s creative foundation was built early and deeply. That eclectic upbringing sparked a journey that has taken her across coasts and continents, always driven by a restless curiosity and a commitment to artistic risk taking. Between 2022 and 2024, Heidi won 20+ top screenwriting awards and began developing projects for film and television production companies. She earned a place in the Top 1% on Coverfly’s Red List and was hired as the Principal Writer for Ranch Productions. She made her directorial debut in 2026 and the has an exciting slate of projects in development. Before screenwriting, Heidi built a formidable career in performance. She toured globally as a lead singer in Tom Waits For No Man and was invited into the acclaimed Off Broadway company 29th Street Rep, known for premiering hard hitting plays including Tracy Letts’ Killer Joe. Her stage work earned rave reviews in productions such as Bold Girls, In The Belly of the Beast, Lenny & Lou, and an extended Off Broadway run as May in Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love. She also originated roles in Shira Piven’s Pilgrims, based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestselling book. Heidi trained with renowned teachers including William Esper, Larry Moss, and Susan Batson, grounding her writing in a deep understanding of character, psychology, and performance. Today, she continues to develop a body of work defined by emotional grit, rebellious spirit, and a fierce love for outsiders rewriting their own destinies.
