George Cates

Composer, conductor, arranger and producer, educated at New York University. He was a record producer for Dot and Coral, and a longtime music supervisor for the Lawrence Welk programs. Joining ASCAP in 1954, he collaborated musically with Mort Greene, Paul Francis Webster, and Irving Taylor. His popular-song compositions include "Fuzzy Wuzzy".
