Born, raised and educated in Israel, Aliza did a lot of extra and bit work for both local and international productions (such as Appointment with Death, The Road to Ein Harod). She is also a Choir Singer, which is how she got to play the Singer in the Market in this Movie, Natalie Portman's directorial debut. As a singer she participated in local stage productions of shows such as Fiddler on the Roof (as Grandma Tzietel), Oliver! (as the Milkmaid), Elton John's Aida, Peter Pan (as Liza the Housekeeper), Kismet, The King and I, The Music Man (as a Pick-a-Little Lady), and Hello, Dolly, and lately a non-singing role in an stage adaptation of Terry Prachett's Wyrd Sisters.
