Walter R. Cichy

Walter Cichy lived in Far Rockaway, NY until he moved to New York City to attend New York University. He dropped out of NYU, and went to a private photography/movie production school. In 1967, he was going to be drafted; instead he enlisted in the army as a photographer. After going though basic training and specialist training (in photography), he was sent to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Walter got married to his girlfriend of 2 years, Mikal Kirshner in 1967. She joined him in Colorado and within 9 months they shipped to Anchorage Alaska where he spend 2 yrs in the US Army. He was a Private First Class, in photography, while in the Army. By 1970, Walter and Mikal separated, then went on to divorce in April of 1971. He located to Los Angeles in 1970. This is where he continued his work in the movie field. He met and married Vicki Turel. They divorced before his subsequent death in a car accident in 1978.
