Vishwamitter Adil(1919-2002)

Indian writer and musician who started out writing music for films and progressed to writing screenplays. Adil was born December 21, 1919. His first entry into films was writing music for the films Sarai ke Bahar and Hum Log. By the mid-1950s, he had moved into dialog writing and screenplays. He maintained a separate career in radio, working for four years with Indian Radio and producing programs for Radio Ceylon. He also produced programs for the Indian Popular Theatre. Adil died in 2002 at the age of 82.
