Based in Mumbai, Pratik Motwani is a film, television, and theatre actor working across the US and India. Known for his emotional range and striking physical characterization, he recently appeared in the critically acclaimed Indian espionage thriller series Special Ops. Pratik’s upcoming slate highlights his versatility across global cinema, featuring a starring role in the highly anticipated Indian historical drama series: The Revolutionaries, directed by Nikhil Advani (Emmay Entertainment), and a key role in the Hollywood feature: The Peasant, directed by Dev Patel and produced by indie powerhouse A24. Intriguingly, his screen career came full circle with The Peasant, having originally entered the industry years prior by lending his voice as the official Hindi dub for Dev Patel's protagonist character in the multi-Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Pratik holds an MFA in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre from Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre in California. He is trained in the Jacques Lecoq pedagogy and a sought-after educator of the Michael Chekhov Technique, having served on the Board of Directors for MICHA (The Michael Chekhov Association) based in New York City. Beyond the screen, Pratik is a formidable force in the academic and theatrical communities. He has served as the National Head of the Devised Theatre Initiative for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and has been invited as a guest artist and faculty member at the world's most elite institutions, including the Yale School of Drama, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Texas Tech University, and the Michael Chekhov School in Hudson, New York.
