He graduated from Institute of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in 1958.In 1960, he plays first role in the movie Secretul Cifrului. Other notable roles in films : Haiducii lui Saptecai (1971), Vlad Tepes (1980) and Rapirea fecioarelor (1968).
