Ismet Sijarina

Ismet Sijarina is a Film Director, Producer, Scriptwriter, Activist, and Professor based in Pristina, Kosovo. A passionate advocate for social issues, he has dedicated years to documentary filmmaking, using cinema as a powerful tool for storytelling and change. His latest feature film, Cold November, premiered at the 66th San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2018 and, in November 2022, made history as the first nationwide film from Kosovo to be released on Netflix. Ismet's films have been screened and awarded at prestigious festivals, including San Sebastián, Thessaloniki, the Sarajevo Film Festival, Zurich IFF, Bosporus, Göteborg, RiverRun, goEast, Saint Louis, and many more. Since 2018, he has been a proud member of the European Film Academy, contributing to the global cinematic landscape through his thought-provoking work.
