Derek Amato

Derek Amato. Self: Ingenious Minds. Derek Amato was diagnosed with acquired musical savant syndrome in 2007 as the result of a brain injury, and also diagnosed in 2010 with yet another rare condition, synesthesia. Derek is considered one of thirty acquired savants living today. Currently residing in Colorado with his three children, Derek is an avid fly fisherman, and continues his efforts with humanitarian organizations throughout the world.
