He was primarily known for his work in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films, singing in an impressive total of 16 languages. According to some sources, he held a Guinness World Record for the most songs recorded by a single singer, with a staggering count of over 50,000 songs across these languages. On February 8, 1981, he achieved a remarkable feat by recording 28 songs in Kannada in a single day, along with an additional 19 songs in Tamil and 16 in Hindi, a milestone recognized as a record as well.
