Muna Otaru

Muna Otaru is a British-Nigerian actor best known for critically acclaimed performance in the role of 'Mad' in the American action thriller "The Keeping Room." It premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival and screened at the BFI London Film Festival. She won a Film Club's The Lost Weekend Award for Best Supporting Actress and was featured in The Playlist's, 'On the Rise 2015: 20 Actresses to Watch', Indiewire's 'The 21 Biggest Indie Breakout Actors of 2014' and the Guardian's Braddie Awards' Best Supporting Actresses of 2016.In 2017, she starred in the BBC drama series, "Broken." It won a BAFTA award in 2018 and a Royal Television Society North West award in 2017. Muna received an honorable mention at the 2018 Screen Nation awards for her performance on the series.Most recently, she can be seen in the BBC/A24 TV series, "Dreaming Whilst Black."
