J.T. Gurzi

J.T. Gurzi was born in the American Southwest and raised along the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, USA. He more notably co-created and produced Heaven Adores You (2014) (Universal/Mercury Studios), an intimate and meditative inquiry into the life and music of Elliott Smith. His work has screened at AFI DOCS, Slamdance, Tribeca, and hundreds of festivals worldwide. J.T. was a Panavision 'New Filmmaker' program recipient for his directorial debut, and graduate of the UCLA Theatre, Film & Television MFA Screenwriting program. His below-the-line screen credits include Academy Award winning films and Emmy Award winning shows. He is known for Dream from Leaving (2008), Westworld (2016) and The Odyssey (2026).
