Joe Towey. Actor: Nightmare Theatre. Joe Towey, who hosted KIRO-TV's Saturday-night "Nightmare Theater" as "The Count" from 1965 to 1977, died Sunday at his Seattle home following an illness of more than a year. He was 55.
