Director. He first wanted to become a painter, studied at the School for Fine Arts, later he was a cutter, assistant director and script writer. He made his first independent film in 1922. He readily adapted themes from the peasantry, but mostly in the style of folklorist plays, remaining on the surface of events and characters.
