Cecil Merritt

Won the Victoria Cross while commanding the South Saskatchewan Regiment of Canada during the raid on Dieppe, France, August 19th, 1942. He was captured during the raid and spend the remainder of the war as a POW. During that time he was held at Colditz Castle (Oflag IVC) for two years.
