Athinodoros Prousalis(1926-2012)

Athinodoros Prousalis was a Greek actor whose career spanned theater, film, and television, leaving a lasting mark on modern Greek performance. He began on stage in works such as 'O tromeros kalogeros' and quickly established himself through collaborations with prominent theater companies, including the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Piraeus Theatre, and the Karolos Koun Art Theatre, earning recognition for his performances in 'To fintanaki' and other notable productions. On screen, he appeared in classics of Greek cinema, including Barrel Piano, Poverty and Carnations (1957), and worked with directors such as Theodoros Angelopoulos in Voyage to Cythera (1984), The Beekeeper (1986), and The Suspended Step of the Stork (1991). His television work was equally distinguished, with memorable roles in series like Eglimata (1998), and he received a special honor at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for his performance in 'Oi Athinaioi'. Known for his authentic portrayals of everyday characters and his distinctive voice and presence, Prousalis became one of the most respected and beloved actors of his generation.
