Born on September 22, 1988 in Nuremberg, Germany, Max Huang is a Chinese-Indonesian-German actor best known for portraying Kung Lao in Warner Bros.’ Mortal Kombat (2021), directed by Simon McQuoid, and the upcoming sequel Mortal Kombat 2 (releasing May 2026). He has since taken on starring roles in 'The 7 Dogs' and 'Kung Fu Deadly'. Starting his career as a member of the legendary Jackie Chan Stunt Team, Max has gone on to work across English-, German-, and Chinese-language productions, with additional credits including Police Story 2013, The Foreigner, and Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. He also served as Action Director on Jackie Chan’s Bleeding Steel.Max has since created and perfected his own unique form of contemporary screen combat and is known for performing and choreographing most of his on-screen fight sequences. In 2019, he made his filmmaking debut with the award-winning German original action short No Way Out, which he wrote, directed, edited, and starred in. He holds an acting diploma from the London Actors Studio and has trained through masterclasses and coaching with Larry Moss. Outside of film, Max has trained with the Shanghai Wushu Team, won Gold at the German Wushu Nationals in 2009, and represented Germany as a member of the German National Wushu Team at the World Wushu Games (2015).
