Jake Horowitz is a Canadian producer, writer, and director. Their feature debut, the meta-rom-com All About Who You Know, premiered in 2019 to critical and commercial acclaim after debuting on Paramount+ in the US and Crave in Canada. In 2020 Jake directed, produced, and wrote their second feature, Cup of Cheer. The movie was released theatrically to critical acclaim, with a four-star review in the National Post, a primetime review on CBC News hailing Cup of Cheer as "the spoof to end all spoofs," and CTV critic Richard Crouse calling it "a dizzying onslaught well delivered by a game cast." The film was met with praise internationally and it was the #1 film at the Canadian box office upon its release. Recently, Jake has directed and showrun two seasons of their dark comedy/mystery series (8x20) entitled Sunshine City, broadcast in Canada by Bell. Jake's third feature, a thriller/mystery entitled A Thousand Cuts, was distributed in Canada on Crave by Mongrel Media in 2026 and will soon be available worldwide. Jake's next projects will be the Crave original series Dead of Winter and the upcoming original comedy series Gay People Suck, both due out in 2027.As a producer Jake has participated in a number of high-profile industry business development programs including as a JETS Award Winner at the Berlin Film Festival (Berlin, 2018, 2020), and is a member of the Academy of Canadian Film and Television as a recipient of its Equity and Inclusion Program. Jake holds a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing from University of Roehampton in London, UK.
