Edward M. Davis. Additional Crew: Adam-12. A thirty-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department (1948-1978), he served as that agency's chief from 1969 to 1978 During his tenure as police chief his office provided technical advice / assistance for the TV series "Dragnet" and "Adam-12." After retirement from the force he served as a state senator in California (1980-1992).
