Asaba Jumah, is a Ugandan actor, musician, and author. He is known for his work in independent films and productions within Uganda’s growing film industry. Starting his career at a young age, he has steadily built a diverse filmography, taking on roles across drama, action, and short films.Jumah began appearing in screen productions in the early 2010s, gaining early experience through roles in local Ugandan projects. One of his earliest appearances includes Titanic II (2010), where he was credited in a minor role. He continued developing his craft with performances in films such as The Return of Uncle Benon (2011) and Escape from Uganda (2013), where he portrayed the character Moses.As his experience grew, Jumah became involved in more locally recognized productions, including Ejjini Iye Ntwetwe (2015) and the short film Attack on Nyege Nyege Island (2016), where he played Kato. His early work laid the foundation for a consistent acting career in Uganda’s independent cinema space.In 2018, he appeared in the short film Kyenvu, followed by a notable role as Felix in November Tear (2019), a performance that contributed to his growing recognition among emerging Ugandan actors. He continued to build momentum with his role as Hakim in The Girl in the Yellow Jumper (2020), a film that gained wider attention.Jumah is also known for his role as Alex in Once Upon a Time in Uganda (2021), a project that reflects the creativity and global ambition of Uganda’s independent film scene. In addition, he appeared in Eaten Alive in Uganda, further expanding his acting portfolio.Over the years, Asaba Jumah has demonstrated versatility by taking on different characters across multiple genres, from drama to action and short films. His dedication to storytelling and consistent involvement in film productions position him as part of a new generation of Ugandan actors contributing to the industry’s growth.
